Getting to Know me: I love education! I started my journey as a reading para-professional in Salt Lake. I found a love for teaching reading and later finished my degree at SUU with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in reading.
I worked in the Washington County School District for 13 years, primarily teaching 1st and 5th
grade. I left teaching for the last four years to be a mom. During that time, I home-schooled my children and worked at a home-school co-op. I have always been involved in education, and I’m happy to be back in the classroom!
When I am not working, I love to hike, read, and spend time with my family.
Getting to Know Me: I grew up in the Northshore of Oahu, then at the age of 12, I moved to St. George, Utah. After high school, I attended Southern Utah University where I received my Associate's Degree. I then moved back to Oahu, where I attended Brigham Young University. I graduated with my Bachelors in Elementary Education with certificates in Special Education and American Sign Language. After receiving my degree, I was able to teach in Hawaii for four years. I recently moved back to St. George, and am fortunate to be teaching third grade in this beautiful state! I personally believe that the purpose of education is to promote the growth of the individual. I work to establish a trusted learning environment where education can be engaging and exciting.
Getting to Know Me: I was born and raised in Germany until my parents sent me to the United States to learn better English. I was 16 at the time and quickly started loving the people and the country. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education as well as my ESL endorsement in 2017. I have always loved riding horses as a child and it is still my passion today. I married my husband in 2015 and we have a son who was born in 2019. As a family we love to spend time outside and have barbecues with friends. I found my love in teaching as a young girl while giving riding lessons and working as a tutor. I loved sharing my passion for horses as well as making learning fun for all students. It is still my focus today to show my students what they can do, be confident as well as enjoy learning.
I taught for 34 years in the Logan City School District in grades K-4 and ESL. I also taught courses for USU’s Gifted and Talented endorsement program. I moved to St. George a year ago and began subbing for WCSD. I am thrilled to be teaching 3rd grade at Coral Canyon.
I encourage creative and critical thinking in my classroom. I believe that every child has talents and strengths and I teach by building on those, helping students develop a growth mindset. I welcome parent involvement in the education of their child. Together we can discover the ways their child can experience success in school and at home.
