Getting to Know Me: My fifth grade teacher Mr. Eberhard was the first to spark my interests in learning about Roald Dahl books, Norman Rockwell art, and other interesting school topics. He inspired me to go to college and become a teacher. I hope that I can be a positive influence on the minds of generations to come as well. I have taught at Coral Canyon since 2009. I have been privileged to teach kids in fifth grade, first and second. I currently teach second grade and I love it!

Getting to Know Me: I grew up in Western Kansas and Southern California. I have a BA from the University of California San Diego, a M.Ed. from Holy Names College in Oakland, CA, and endorsements in ESL, Gifted/Talented, Elementary Mathematics, and Educational Technology. I was at Coral Canyon Elementary when it opened in 2006 and I adore this school! I’ve been a learner my whole life and a teacher of some kind for over half of it. I love teaching kids to become readers, mathematicians, scientists, and thinkers!

I attended the University of Utah and studied vocal performance, and later graduated from the Elementary Education program at Dixie State College. I am proud to be the fourth generation of my family to enter the teaching profession! I started my career as the Choir Director and Music Specialist at Washington Elementary and then moved to Coral Canyon Elementary. I have ESL and reading endorsements and have taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades. I love teaching math, music, and language arts. Second grade is THE place to be!

I encourage creative and critical thinking in my classroom. I believe that every child has talents and strengths and I teach by building on those, helping students develop a growth mindset. I welcome parent involvement in the education of their child. Together we can discover the ways their child can experience success in school and at home.
