Getting to Know Me: Fourth Grade Rocks! I especially enjoy teaching Science and Math but I love everything about school.  In the past I have taught first, kindergarten, and English as a second language.  I completed a Master in Education and an endorsement in Giftedness. I am also the school’s HAL (high ability learner) facilitator.  My hobbies include hiking, going to movies, enjoying my grandbabies, and working in SGMT community theatre.

Getting to Know Me: I attended the University of Utah and studied vocal performance. I was the Choir Director and Music Specialist at Washington Elementary before entering the Elementary Education program at Dixie State College. In 2010 I was hired as a SEE Apprentice Teacher at Coral Canyon Elementary and worked with Barbie Christensen. Coral Canyon is also where I completed my student teaching. I graduated in May 2011 from Dixie State College with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with an ESL endorsement. I am the fourth generation of my family to enter the teaching profession. I love math, music, and language arts. I am excited to teach fourth grade. It’s going to be a wonderful school year!

Getting to Know Me: My husband and I have three fantastic children and eight adorable grandchildren.  After serving 26 years in the US Army, including all the moving that accompanies military life, my husband retired and we happily chose southern Utah as our final destination. We enjoy hiking in the area, reading amazing books, and spending time with our extended family. We also have two humongous house cats, Jack and Mr. Bella, which give us endless entertainment.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colorado State University – Pueblo (with the inclusion of Brigham Young University credits) with a Bachelors of Science in Liberal Studies and a Minor in Education. I taught fourth and fifth grade in Colorado Springs before moving to St. George. While at Coral Canyon Elementary School I have taught third and fifth grade.

This year I look forward to working with committed staff and dedicated parents to provide the best possible education for our students. I believe every child can learn given the right support and opportunity. I enjoy providing new learning experiences, discoveries, and connections to prepare students for the future.  My goal is for every child to be individually challenged to his or her full potential, and to celebrate every success along the way.
