Getting to Know Me:

My name is Tonya Jesienouski and I am thrilled to be returning to Coral Canyon Elementary School for a second year as a Professional School Counselor!

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from SUU in 1994 and last year I graduated from the University of Utah Educational Psychology Program with a Masters’ Degree in School Counseling. I have worked in the counseling field as a paraprofessional for many years, helping secondary students find jobs, prepare for college and explore careers, or finding scholarships and applying for college. This is my second year working with elementary children.

At Coral Canyon, I get to interact with students on a daily basis through classroom guidance lessons, small groups and individual counseling.   I am very excited to be a part of the amazing things that are happening here at Coral Canyon—our parents, teachers, staff and students are the BEST!

It is my job as a professional school counselor to serve ALL students through classroom curriculum centering on academics, life/career skills, personal/social development, and multicultural/global citizenship skills. In addition, I will also provide small group interventions and individual counseling for students who are referred by themselves, parents, or teachers.
