Hi! My name is Karen Davis. I was born and raised just north of San Francisco, in Kentfield, California. I came to beautiful Utah to attend Brigham Young University, and have lived here ever since. I worked for the University of Utah and the Huntsman Cancer Institute for many years, but knew I really wanted to be a teacher and do my best to have a direct, positive impact on children’s lives. I began teaching at Sunrise Elementary in Sandy, UT, where I taught sixth and fourth grades.
Then, in 2014 my family and I moved to sunny St. George! I have traveled to many places in the world, and the people in Washington County are the most genuine and friendly people I have ever met. In 2014, I was lucky to begin teaching third grade at Coral Canyon Elementary. What an amazing place filled with hard workers of every type and age! In 2015, I started a new role as the learning coach; this position gives me an opportunity to collaborate with all the teachers in the school and provides me the special opportunity of meeting lots of different students.
I have been married to my husband, John, for 24 years. We have two great kids, Ashleigh who is studying at Utah State to become an elementary school teacher, and St. John who attends Desert Hills High School and participates on the swim team and plays water polo. Our family enjoys all things outdoors and loves to travel!
I value being a part of students’ lives and helping them grow in their intelligence, problem solving, love of self, and respect for others.
