Getting to Know Me: I grew up in Western Kansas and Southern California.  I have a BA from the University of California San Diego, a M.Ed. from Holy Names College in Oakland, CA, and endorsements in ESL, Gifted/Talented, Elementary Mathematics, and Educational Technology. I was at Coral Canyon Elementary when it opened in 2006 and I adore this school! As I kid I loved swimming, camping, and reading and hated running, broccoli, and meanies. I’ve been a learner my whole life and a teacher of some kind for over half of it.  These days I still like swimming, camping, and reading but also now do a lot of cooking and Web surfing. First grade is my FAVORITE of all the grades I’ve taught!

Getting to Know Me: I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and moved to St. George, Utah when I was 4 years old. I went to Dixie State High School where I played on the golf team and ran track. After graduating in 2008, I decided to stay local and attend Dixie State University. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree in 2013, and was hired at Coral Canyon Elementary.  This is my 5th year teaching and I love it!  I recently finished my Reading Endorsement from Utah Valley University along with my Masters Degree in Education from Southern Utah University.  I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 5 years now and we have 2 sweet dogs, Harley and Sophie. I love to hike, kayak, paddle board, swim, travel, craft, read, and of course, TEACH!

Getting to Know Me:  I grew up in Riverton, Utah, and then moved down to St. George a year ago after getting married to my high school sweetheart.  I love everything about St. George such as the weather and the year round outdoor activities! I grew up in a family who was very fond of spending time outdoors and being fairly active. Every summer we would either be camping, hiking or vacationing somewhere new.  My family is very important to me, my dad has always been someone that I have looked up to in my life, and aspired to be like him. He teaches high school biology, and after 20 years is still passionate about teaching. Many other members of my extended family have also pursued a career in teaching. I guess you could say the “teaching gene” runs in our family. For my education, I attended Utah State University where I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Minor in Family Communication and Human Development. My years spent at Utah State were incredible. I had some amazing professors who inspired me to be my best self and recognize my potential as a teacher. I am passionate about learning and always continuing to better myself as a teacher and I am currently working on my ESL Endorsement. I love teaching First Grade and being apart of the Coral Canyon Family!

Getting to Know Me: I grew up in Kaysville and Fruit Heights, Utah. After graduating in elementary education from BYU, I spent a year teaching English in Taiwan. I also lived in Austria for a year and Germany for six months. I love learning about different people and visiting new places. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. I enjoyed working in the computer lab my first year here at Coral Canyon, but I am happy to be back in first grade! My husband is also a teacher in Washington County School District. We enjoy hiking, biking, camping and popping popcorn on the stove together. The ultimate treat is spending time with friends and family, but my other favorite activities are baking cookies and reading mysteries!
